NIK ROBALINO (TECH, 2009) is a very enlightened guy. His experiences prior to joining the Technical Theatre department almost qualified him to act as a one man lighting team. Constantly refinements and an expanding repertory of skills, Mik;s masterful hand helped light many of the SOTA shows and events from 2006-2009, as well as numerous productions in and around the Bay Area.
Upon the successful completion of his coursework at SOTA, Nik was awarded the Sunny Brown Memorial Scholarship, a $10,000 honor bestowed on a single student annually, collectively chosen by the SOTA arts faculty.
Nike went on to attend the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio, from which he graduated in 2013 with a BFA in Lighting Design. As a college senior, he was one of six finalists for the Gilbert Hemsley internship, a national competition for a truly amazing internship and was able to travel to New York for interviews and to participate in a portfolio review with some of the biggest names in the field of Broadway Theatre Lighting Design.
