OSCAR YAU (IM 2014) is a horn player, but this summer he will also be a juggler. With courses 4 days a week at Skyline College: Biology (plus a lab), American History, History of Ethnic Groups in California, and PE, Oscar is fast tracking his Associate Degree and IGETC requirements. The IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum) is a series of courses that California community college students may complete to satisfy the lower-division breadth/general education requirements at both UC and the California State University. The silver lining to this intense academic heavy summer? Next May, Oscar will end up graduating from Skyline and SOTA at the same time!
Despite this jam-packed, demanding schedule, he can’t and won’t ignore his passion for music. He will also be receiving private lessons with his trombone and piano teacher.
